My investigations are continuing in a rather wet UK. I have discovered a few points:- 1. Upon removal of the Windscreen motor housing, the accoustic material behind is very wet. The seal for this housing looks good, but I have used a sealant during reassembly to be sure. 2. Small leaks can be traced from the surounds of some grommets (for wiring looms, heater pipes etc.), but these are very small leaks and do not really get wet. 3. Upon a visit to my local Land Rover dealer I discovered that a 97 Discovery has a modified ventilation air inlet. The latest plastic moulding has a higher lip suround. The dealer also informed me that they have made their own "bent tin" covers to help reduce water getting into the ventilation system! 4. In my case the Windscreen was replaced a year ago. I stood and watched the new screen being installed and was happy that they had done a good job with the sealing. I will continue with my experiments and report back.
