Well, here is what i think the answer would be, there were two transmission one was the LTxxxx and the other the Rxxx the R type was much smother as supposed to be a better one, there is a way to tell which one you have by your vin number i think, or I am sure it is also stamped on it yet another way could be if reverse is to the right(passenger side) you have the R and vise versa I seem to remember reading that as well. There is also a service repair program for that it covers a update on your transmission if it is the R type they install a oil thrower to lubricate the main shaft(i think) it may already be done, I jsut had mine done about two months ago. I also have a 94 D90 I hope this is accurate, and helpful Juan
