Engine cutting out at idle and very low speeds

I have a 1992 RR and have been having a problem recently with the
engine cutting out while manuerving at very low speeds in parking
situations and cutting out while stationary idling in front of stop
lights. The problem started occuring after I left the lights on
for ~8 hours so I'm wondering if the engine pulls large amounts of
current from the battery while idle or power steering is in use. I am not a mechanically inclined person so please provide suggestions
of things I could check. The RR has 64k miles and has had the 60k
mile service, so it should not be the fuel or air filters... Any suggestions?
