I mean that BMW is helping LR in its own way. BMW wants to have Land Rovers in her car family becouse LR logo is the key to sell them well. BMW has been changing LR image. New Land Rovers are not the same cars as before. I agree, BMW solved some problems with LR quality but I do not care that. I do not want SUV BMW, I want true offroad Land Rover with its own heritage. Look at new Disco full of electronic devices good for nothing when going offroad; HDC, EBD, Traction Control etc. make this car a toy for stupid. Freelander is even worse at all - e.g. terrible brakes oposite to BMW brakes ones of the best all over the world. Why? New RR is another example but - in my opinion - half Land Rover and half BMW. In my way new Land Rover cars are going to be ordinary SUV for rich people in Europe and North America, "true" cars for highways and picnics. First symptoms of illness started being in late eighties - anti roll bars, Borg Warner transfer box(RR) and poor five speed gear box, many parts made of plastic, many elektronic devices etc. It is a pity! My friend who has been repairing Land Rovers for a long time told me one day - "if you want to buy strong and easy to repair, true Land/Range Rover choose the old one. Land Rovers are worse year by year". I did not agree him and I bought '86 RR and now I can realize his idea. Many buyers of late LR/RR are disapointed in their late LR/RR. They wanted a car like Mitsubishi Pajero but with LR logo and heritage and now they are disapointed. If you want to have a good car to go on road in any conditions buy fully equipped Subaru 4wd Station Wagon Legacy or Impreza - excelent cars in their class. Land Rovers are cars for people who knows what they want really. My english is to poor to explain what I mean exactly but if you are LR man you are able to realize what is in my mind. If not, sorry.....
