Are You in "OD" all the time?

You shouldn't be in "OD" all the time, not enough bhp to pull the gear, same deal with 4th "OD"... engine not powerful enough. "OD" will NOT save fuel, as you can't pull the gear, thus you have to drive flat out all the time, thus increasing fuel consumption.
When whoever put OD in... Did they have special tool to undo/doup rear mainshaft nut? A punch won't do it, nut MUST have 100 ft lbs of torque. MG
