Where is the collant going? In motor oil? Or does it vanish (out exhaust)? Could be a head gasket leaking coolant, but the noise could be a lose liner (if it really has been over heated). If a line, drain/remove pan, disable IGN and turn key... you may see the liner moving up/down. If so, the engine is JUNK (not worth fixing).
