hi, everyone. i'm looking into buying a land rover for the fiirst time. i'm interested in series landrovers and i need to do some hardcore research before i start looking seriously. when i read the ads i don't understand allthe lingo or what the various options are. i've surfed some of the websites, and although the histories are very informative and the pictures enticing, i need to know what a safari top is, a tropical top, hard top, or safari windows, RHD, etc. what can i expect to find on the vrious series as far as heating, soundsystem, gauges, etc. how are the jump seats set in the vehicle? can jump seats or benches be installed in the back of a pick up, or will i have to design that and install it an my own if i go with a pick up (i like th canvas tops)? i'd go looking, but it's not like i can drive down the street and find a slew of series land rovers laying about. i live in maryland if anyone knows any good sources or shows coming up in the mid-atlantic region. i really like the zebra striping too but figure that's something i'll have to do on my own. look forward to hearing from you. thorny.
