I took my 95 disco up to tahoe yesterday and during the trip the engine developed a loud knocking sound. I was up in the snow in the middle of nowhere, so could not stop to diagnose. I drove it all the way back home to sf. When I got back, I checked the oil levels at a gas station, and they were damn near non-existent. I refilled the oil and the knocking is still there. It is loud and disconcerting. Even at idle, it's still there. It gets faster as I accellerate. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
