95 Land Rover Discovery Upon starting, a very loud scraping/grinding noise started coming from the right rear engine area. I would put the level of the noise at around 70-80 decibels. It almost sound like a can full of nuts being shaken. The noise does not change in either pitch or frequency when the RPMs are raised or lowered, or when its put into forward or reverse. I've remove the serpentine belt and the noise is still there and unchanged. The next step I'm planning is changing the oil and checking for metal. Any other ideas?
