Doing the Carfax thing and having a mechanic check the vehicle out is a definite. I bought my at 90k and off of eBay. All I have had to fix is a leaky power steering (got the hoses changed) and a flaky oxygen sensor. Inspect the prospect cold without it having run and look underneath. If it is very clean, suspect. Almost every LandRover has a leak. Check the ground first and look up under the vehicle with a strong flashlight/torch. Look at the vehicle in daytime only for body dings and poor colision work. Inspect the A/frame and bull bar. Rough stuff shows up in bent bars. Look for rust and corrusion at the rear lights, door jambs and base of the rear door. It is funny that the car is made of aluminium yet gets so rusty. Don't be fooled by the Armourall on the tires and the dash. Finally a proud owner would have all the paperwork showing the periodic maintance. Hope I was some help. Adam
