Alternate engine for SIII LWB Posted by Marc - Johannesburg on December 17, 1998 at 05:42:25: Hi there, I have a series 3 LWB with a blown 6 cylinder petrol engine (ex SA military, in excellent condition bar the engine). I'd like to replace it, preferably with a diesel (because of running costs). Any suggestions? It doesn't have to be an LR engine, but I'd like a good compromise between ease of installation (with minimal modification), value for money, availability of spares etc. I have heard that there is a 4cyl Nissan diesel that is easy to install, but I don't know the model number.
