The reason I ask is that I think it may be a fine idea if you never go off road but if it makes it difficult to drain and replace I would not recommend it for anyone who uses their Rover off road. The swivel housing does not have its own vent. When the pressure increases through heat it blows off pressure into the axle past the seal. The problem is when you go off road and are wading the swivel housing cools down very fast and needs to suck in air so that a vacuum is not created. Since water is thinner than oil it will suck water past the seals even if no oil drips past those seals. EVERYTIME I have gone off road and done some wading I have drained my swivels and found water in them. And this is with a set of swivels than can hold 90 weight oil without leaking. I have never found water in my differentials. I run 140 weight gear oil in my swivels because it is easy to drain and gives me a little extra margin against leaking. Let me know how that new oil/grease drains. Brad H.
