I have been using Amsoil full syn. oil for years and years. If the motor is not using or leaking then go ahead and use it, but keep an eye on the consumption to see if anything develops. I also use Amsoil filters which have very small micron filterability. I do not rember the specs.
I use syn. gear lube for diffs., syn. tranny oil and syn. auto tranny oil. I can take a motor to 250,000 + without top or bottom work and you can eat off the valve covers inside.
