HELP, Dead Disco

After discovering what seemed to be a small oil leak (not that uncommon in a rover) from my 96 Disco, I had planned to stop by my local Rover Authorized Service Provider to check out the leak. Along the way the leak apparently got worse, and the truck was running rough. The Rover mechanic discovered the leak was coming from a blown camshaft gasket, the result of either a bent cam shaft or warped wheel. Bottom line, I am looking at anywhere from $1,500 repair to $6,000 engine replacement depending on the engine's internal damage. I had the truck flatbedded to the local dealer with whom I purchased the truck and had all warranty work done. They are currently looking into the problem. I am a little dumbfounded as to how a 3 year old Rover with only 53,000 miles (yes, it is off of warrenty) had this sort of catastrophic engine failure. In looking at old service records, the dealer had replaced a leaky camshaft gasket and oil-seal timing gear cover about a year ago. Work was done under warranty. Could they have caused the problem? Has anyone had any similar experiences? Especially anyone who has had luck getting LR North America to fix items out of warranty? Any help would be appreciated. I am seriously considering getting legal council if the dealer does not resolve the problem. Thanks, Ray
