I think you're close. I blew a rear U-joint apart about 6 months ago. Replaced the rear drive shaft with a heavy duty 'Tom Woods'. I have on my list to replace the front U-joints and maybe shaft as well, considering their age -- same as yours. You could have also lost a balancing weight off one of the prop shafts. I'd look at that first. Let us know what you find. Doug Walker
