| Tranny refill/change on a DII -some concerns Posted by HYWY61 on August 09, 2004 at 11:49:30: So this last weekend i go for the old fluid change in the tranny. At 60K i see in the manual - no change of filter needed. OPinions? I didn't change the filter but as I was changing the fluid I followed the procedure outline in the repair manuals i have - factory i believe. In the final stage you are supposed to have engine running and fill until fluid seeps out of filler hole. This is fine but once you remove the tube you are using to fill the fluid quite a bit can come out. So i refilled a little more and the 2nd try was much quicker in replacing the fill plug. Bottom line is some continues to come out. How much is tolerable? It seems to be running fine but i really have no way of checking the level. Please advise. Thanks. P.S. Drives me crazy the don't have dipstick tube where i can check the level or add a little if needed.
