After a few attempts at starting you should have called it quits and let it sit for a while, as everytime you turn the key on-off-on... it primes the system. If it thinks its cold it will fire all 8 injectors at once.
Pull plugs and turn motor over... see what comes out plug holes. Wait and hour, refit dry plugs and attempt to start. Hopefully you haven't bent all the rods. MG
