Definitely - they are unreliable and disreputable - don't be told different! Posted by Stu on November 29, 1998 at 14:35:05: In Reply to: Zeus NO! posted by James on November 29, 1998 at 07:57:53:
Yes lucky me, I bought a 90 Tdi with a Zeus conversion. GEars let go exactly as James describes and totalled the engine. I have two confirmed cases of this in the UK and when I spoke to Zeus (and I spoke to them a LOT) it was clear that this had happened before. Trade contacts in Devon UK (where they are based) have indicated to me that they are being sued by a number of people, that they are possibly in financial problems and that their unreliability is well known by those in the know. I wrote to all press, all of their distributors and to the LR factory - and I didn't seem to be surprising anyone. Needless to say Zeus offered no recompense and when I sent them my gears in good faith, they stole them and wouldn't return them. DON'T GO NEAR THIS COMPANY OR THEIR PRODUCTS!
