Urgent... Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) Required...

Urgent Assistance Required - I am trying to locate a copy of the Technical Bulletin that Landrover produced in relation to the failure of the 1.8 litre petrol motor in the Freelander.
Why - Because I have just found out that my Freelander (a 1.8 litre petrol motor, 1999 model) needs to have it's engine replaced after water was found in the oil and vice versa. Landrover have wiped their hands of me and I have a quote for $8000.00 Australian Dollars to fix it. I have owned my car since new, it has travelled 140,000 kms, is almost 5 years old, hardly goes of the bitumen, has been looked after like a baby and regularly serviced at my local Landrover Dealer.
Landrover won't say what is wrong, saying only that at best it will be the head gasket that needs to be replaced and at worst it will be the engine as the "wet sleeves" in the combustion chambers may have "slipped". The quote is to cover the worst case scenario as well as the "best" case scenario. Is there a way of finding out precisely which scenario it is with a simple test?
I am a Landrover devotee and have been one most of my life, I have owned previous Landrovers and I can't understand why Landrover (the company) are treating me like this.
Any and all help much appreciated.
Thank you.
