| E-MAIL Services Restored At LRX.COM Posted by Bill Wood, LRX Webmaster on April 08, 2004 at 12:04:01: As of approximately 16:00 GMT on Thursday April 8, 2004 all outgoing e-mail functionality at LRX.COM should be restored. Anyone who opened a new account during the preceding 90 hours should now be able to use the CONFIRM ACCOUNT feature at www.lrx.com to get their password in order to post a forum message or to post an ad at the advertising section of LRX.COM. If you experience any subsequent difficulties receiving e-mail confirmations from this site, please let us know. For those of you are technically inclined, the problem occurred because our ISP, Covad, blocked port 25 which is used to send outgoing mail. Apparently this blocking was initiated several months ago, but it only took effect last Sunday when the LRX router was rebooted for the first time in over six months. In order to restore mail services at the site, we had to install a new version of SENDMAIL which provides support for SMTP authentication.
