I had one of these up until last year and traded it in on a 1992. Here is my two bits worth. It is quite a gutless truck the 1989 with the 3.9 motor goes a lot better. I don't think the 87 and 88 were a well rust proofed as the later ones. Pull up the floor mats and check the floors - this is where rust first shows up. Also take a hard look at upper and lower tailgate.. At that milage you will need to replace the timing chain if it has not been done already. takes about four hours and the 235 chev one fits just fine. They are prone to have odometer and sliding roof problems. The headliner adhesive fails causing bubbles in the roof. There are some problrms with a little nylon clip in the door locks. Up here in Vancouver that price would be very high for that model unless it was a real gem. Good Luck Ray.
