I am presently building a special Land Rover from used spares. I am looking for a 90 chassis, TDi engine, axels etc. Where can I find the chassis no. and how can I check that they are not stolen. In the past I have worked on Porsches and all panels/ components have numbers that relate to the chassis no, so recognising stolen spares is easy. Do Land Rover have a similar system and if so what parts carry identification nos.
There seem to be a few chassis and engines advertised without any ID. nos. are these legal to buy and can they be registered in the U.K.

Please help as I do not want to make the mistake of purchasing parts that have been stolen in the past.
