| 98 Land Rover check engine light Posted by Michael Clark on December 27, 2003 at 18:41:12: I have a 98 Land Rover LS with 78,000 miles. The transmission failed and a new factory tranny was installed.Cost $3,800. A transmission fluid line came apart when we were 300 miles from home and emptied the fluid all over the road. The vehicle was towed back, and repaired at garage expense. I keep getting a check engine light after driving for about three miles. This did not happen before the new transmission. Is there a way of reading the codes and deciphering them without going to the dealer or a repair facility? Thanks Mikecofpb@aol.com
