| Engine knocks (MG @ WCB please respond) Posted by Jack Baker on December 19, 2003 at 10:44:42: I own a 98 Disco LSE which now has about 73K on it. In the mornings when I start the truck cold the engine knocks and goes away pretty much after its warm (Sounds like a diesel). Once the engine is warm it runs great. My engine is a 4.0 and I've been running Castrol Syntec in it. I suspect the previous owner may have overheated the engine since I ended up replacing the radiator when I purchased the truck and I think they took the heads off. Any ideas on what might be causing the noise? In the future if I did have to replace my heads or engine what’s the costs for genuine replacements?
