I have just finished writing a letter to Landrover Canada and the sales manager at the dealership where I bought my new 95 Discovery. I am not very versed in Auto-mechanics but I estimate that between the factory warranty, my extended warranty, and my own bank account this 3 year old vehicle has cost in the ballpark of $30,000 in maintenance and repairs. The letter that I wrote was a friendly request for Landrover Canada to stand behind there claim that Landrovers are dependable and reliable. I find that I can't go on trips for more than 3 hours without it resulting in major warranty work as well as non-warranty work. My Discovery is currently being repaired at MCL Motors in Vancouver and it has been estimated that I will have to spend another $600 bring my total to date over $7000 in 3 years.
I am frusterated because I love the vehicle but its just not dependable.
