Charge Warning Light

Posted by ncdrakes on November 12, 2003 at 21:24:27:

I have a 74 109; it's been off the road for the past month for upgrades: ignition, exhaust manifold, clutch rebuild, carb rebuild, etc. During this time the battery has been connected and disconnected multiple times. When I start the truck at this point the charge warning light does not go completely out; it surges while the engine is first getting going and then becomes very dim. Is this potentially a ground issue; do I just need to let it run so the batteries can get recharged? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
