Brake master cylinder and Brake failure valve

Posted by Oli J on September 28, 2003 at 15:00:45:

I was wondering if someone could help me out here:
I've recently bought a 1980 series 3 SWB, and have had to sort out the wiring on the dash quite a lot. Most of this was removing old disused spot light switches, but theres one that I can't figure out. It is a push button test switch with a light in it (which I'm pretty sure is not original). Most of the wires from it were connected to nothing, but the last two are connected to the brake failure valve and the master brake cylinder. With the ignition on the switch does not light up when pressed. Also, theres a wire which came from the master cylinder to the brake failure valve with no break in it. It came into through the bulkhead and straight back out again, and it had a connector in it.
Does anyone have any ideas about what to do with them or what they are for?
Any help would be much appreiciated, my Haynes manual was no good for this one!
thanks
