I was fortunate enough to go to the LR Lodge in Colorado this past Sept. LRNA really pumped us up about the DII. I drove the shit out of it- we took it over a fairly challenging (some called it treacherous) mountain passes, a trials course and it did great. They really have kept the spirit of the DI alive. There is a marked improvement in the fit, feel and finish of the car as well as a Bosch engine management system and fewer and fewer Lucas parts. The rear seat set up is similar to the DI but the seats face forward- definitely a place for Junior and not the boss. I suppose when you get down to it, it's still a Rover and I would definitely get the extended warranty just in case- it's not a Honda (but thank God for that).
