My NAS90 goes Off-road at every opportunity including deep water expeditions - he gets very wet yet the V8 never misses a beat and the alternator belt never squeels. However, I did purchase an aerosol can of "Loctite No 120 Belt Dressing 300 mL" (£4-25 / $6-80 at local car accessory shop) when I bought my NAS and my Suzuki SJ410 nearly 2 years ago. After every Off-road day the vehicle including engine is washed with high pressure cold water washer, run the engine to get the water off and then use the belt dressing. Says on label "Prevents belt slipping, glazing, and squeking. prolongs belt life". Works on Vee belts, Wedge belts and latest type of ribbed belts. Instructions do say to spray with engine running but on my truck this is not possible with the steering pump belt without losing your fingers - so it gets done with engine stopped. Can is nearly empty so it lasts a long time!
No squeks No hassle Nuf said!
