front output shaft (bearing) on transfer box (play?)

To all fellow Land Rover owners & enthusiasts:
I own a 98 LR Disco.(4 months old & 3500 miles). I am a total novice when it comes to these vehicles & am looking for a little assistance.
Question: My vehicle was up on a lift the other day for an oil change at a friends garage. He has "some" experience with LR, he owns two (one old one new) and is quite involved with their maintenance & upkeep, mechanically & otherwise. He was looking around underneath the vehicle while it was on the lift, as was I, and he noticed some play in the front ouput shaft (bearing) on the transfer box. He said that he had not previously seen this on a new Disco. However, he stated, that he is by no means an expert. By the way, he has an older RR and a Defender (last model year available, I believe). He said I should go right away and have the dealer check that out. As of yet I have not done it. I became aware of this yesterday afternoon. I wanted to get the opinion of those on this board who are far more knowledgeable than I or my colleague. Any assistance that anyone might be able to provide would be greatly appreciated.
