For the benefit of others, I'll summarize the advice that I've received privately from many sources. I had 32 responses in all to my inquiry (for which I am thankful), and all were remarkably consistent: -If the frame is rotten, everything hanging off of it probably is rotten as well. -A car with a frame so rusty as to require replacement, in all but the most unusual circumstances (i.e., an otherwise restored or kept up car), is a parts car worth a few hunded dollars at the most. -With time and searching, there are good used Series LR's out there for a reasonable price. -Be wary of people importing later cars in the names of their customers by switching vehicle id numbers. Having since read Linday Porter's book and garnering an idea of what parts cost from various catalogs, I'm still looking for a SWB Series II or Series IIA on an informed basis. Thanks to all who responded and who have helped.
