You are so right. Oiled K&N filters and MAF sensors DON'T mix.

The best substance to clean MAF sensors with is Isopropyl Alcohol applied with cotton buds. Once the wet cotton buds show no more sign of dirt, use a couple of dry cotton buds to complete the job.

Isopropyl Alcohol is ised to clean VCR and Tape deck heads and leaves no residue.
I have heard of instances of brake cleaner ketting onto the circuit boards and causing problems.
