Leaky roof on new Defender

Ya well, I hope yours is fine, but mine's not.
Despite the general tone of this posting, may I say that I really, really like Landys (lots of fun in a 110 in Botswana,S.A.,Namibia). I am therefore dismayed that LR S.A. are about to institute divorce proceedings against me.
Since our new Defender was delivered in Nov95, LR have been unable to rectify its leaking roof. This despite 6 months in various workshops and them supplying a completely new replacement LR in Feb97. LR now tell me that they cannot rectify the roof, and that "Owners are expected to accept this as part of LR ownership" (LR after sales director). Would like input from other damp defenders.
