First off... it's NOT a "Landie", but a LAND-ROVER (sorry, but I hATE that term!). Anyway, $3000. is too much for old rust backet, you can buy & ship a better one from UK for less. Changing chassis is a MAJOR job, and being its rusty, even worse. Don't bother. It won't be just the chassis, it'll be all the srpings, their bolts, firewall, etc. $20,000. late you'll have an 88".
