Your best option is to replace the diff with an ARB air locker. Even if you never engage the locker its a 4pin carrier instead of just a two. Be sure to contact local 4x4 "Jeep" clubs as to who is the best ARB installer in your area. Youd be suprised at how many shops clain to do good work but screw it up. It must be a 10spline for your year model. The axles you need are made by Rover of course. I have found in purchasing axles it is much cheaper to by them direct from the Uk. The best place to deal with is famous four products. They are twice as cheap on axle shafts as anywhere in the US. It only takes 8-10 days regular or they can do it overnight for about as much as the part costs(still matching US company prices). Their number is 0114401507 609444. If you have to get a new ring/pinion and gear set I'd recomend Kam differentials in the UK. They offer hardened products.
For axle shaft strength call Steve Johnson at Dixieland Rovers at 912-386-8498. He's in good with Kyrogenics people who freeze parts for nascar. It costs about $125 per axle shaft but no more broken axles. Drive flanges are a good item to freeze as well as are ring and pinions and any metal you don't want to ever break again.
Rover on good fellow...
