don't own one but ive read heaps of articles:
Q2&3: 1.8 is same engine as in new MGF: apparently super refined and quiet, but detuned from 88kW to 84kW for better off road performance, acceleration is quite leisurely due to weight of vehicle, but cruises very happily at highway speeds. RAV4 and Vitara (YUK!) also around 80 kW, but true comparison would have to be based on power to weight ratios.
Q4. surfboard? one article stated..("dont expect to see one of these with a surfboard on the roof..)?????
Q5. t-bar is like a roll cage, vehicle is more targa than true convert
Q6. Big plus of car was HUGE amount of rear legroom.....
PS did you know these are first landies to be made from steel? has land rover finally sold out??????
