I experienced a similar thing with my 2002 Freelander. I started it up on a cold morning, and it ran rough with reduced power. I took it to the dealer who also found codes indicating two cylinders weren't firing. Different engines, but I wonder if they share some common electrical components. It's ran OK after a restart, and the dealer could find nothing wrong.
