| Oil Overfill 1997 Disco Posted by gonchy on December 26, 2002 at 22:33:22: My mechanic overfilled my car with as much as 6 extra quarts of oil. After a few blocks the car died, the mechanic took responsibility for their mistake, sent the car to a LR dealer and called their insurance company. The LR dealer said that the car was ok, they cleaned the engine and changed the spark plugs. Is this ok? Should I insist that they tear down the engine or change the head gaskets? They stated that there was oil everywhere, am I going to leave with perennial oil leaks? I just want to make sure I don't get screwed by the insurance company... Thanks
