Is it an 88 or a 109. The 88 is usually not a problem to bleed but the 109 can be extremely difficult.

If you have a 109, you would probably be best to get a pressure or vacuum bleeder. If you have an 88, keep trying or it may be that the adjust ment is not right on the shoes. New shoes are always a little soft at first. Try adjusting all the shoes to maximum tightness. You won't be able to drive like this but if you then have a good pedal, then adjustment and not bleeding is the problem. If this does not help, then the bleeding is the problem and you still have air in the system.

I had a lot of trouble bleeding a clutch once and found that the only way to fix it was to replace the master cylinder. This cylinder had been OK before it was disturbed but did not recover after the surgery.
