I have always wanted a Land Rover and finally had a chance to test
drive a 97 Discovery SE. I have several questions.
1. We went to a dealership here in San Diego that was
very good and informative. Since I have only owned
American automobiles before, and there are always
several dealerships to choose from, I have always
gone in and negotiated hard on the sales price.
Since there is only one dealer in San Diego, do the
dealerships come off the asking sticker price or do
they hold fast? This dealership had a great
selection so they didn't seem to be moving too many.
2. Does anyone know of another dealership in the
Southern California market that I could contact for
comparison. While I do negotiate hard, the dealer
is as important to me as the vehicle itself and
I do like a good relationship there.
3. Has anyone experienced any big problems with the 97
Discovery that seem to repeat?

I would appreciate any and all input.
