Help ! S2a Brakes

Can anyone help me, I have a 1965 2A and have recently overhauled the brake (new front drums,new wheel cylinders all round, new shoes all round and new lines on the back) and although they are better than before the pedal is very spongy, but does firm up after a few pumps.
I have bled the brakes 4 times with no improvment, and the master cylinder is O.K. I have been told if you clamp the flexible brake lines this will indicate if there is air in the line, when i clamp the front lines the pedal does firm up and also the back lines are the same, but i have bled it 4 times now and am about to give. Am i expecting to much from this age of landie or is something else wrong.
Pleas Help!!!!!!
