I have two batteries fitted to my 94 Disco.I simply fitted a standard split charge relay (as supplied in most trailer/caravan shops) and then connected this too the second battery located in the front nearside. I did not replace the standard alternator and so far have had no problems.The spare battery is used to power 12v coolbox and ancillaries when the engine is off without fear of flattening the vehicle main battery.If you want a wiring diagram please email me direct |
