I replaced the distributor cap and rotor, static timed it, and now it runs. However, now there is a subtle hollow pinging sound at the end of the exhaust. That was not there before.

I've tried adjusting the timing (with a gun), and that made it go away for a bit, but now it's still doing it. I have never heard real "engine knocking", so I can not tell if that is what I have or not.
