Missing /Range Rover

92 Range Rover 155k miles. new fule pump,relay,filter,O2 sensors,plugs,wires.
Engine hesitates then misses at high speeds or when gunning it. Does not do this if I open hood an pull on throttle cable. When I start it up the battery light comes on very dim then goes off. I had the alternator tested and they said it was fine!!
Any suggestions?
ALTERNATOR? Some say YES.
