Come on..... They must be joking! Unless you drive it around like a little old lady and drive a total of 4 miles a day... I doubt it. I would bet you may have a blown head gasket though. Do a compression test, normally front cylinder (near water jacket). Is it using water? Keep track of it. Might pressure check cooling system too, and while doing so remove one front plug at a time and see what happens... quite simple deal really.
Now, if you're climbing a grade and it begins to slow, even if you push throttle harder... do so, then pull over and junp under cxar & check cats (to see if they are glowing red). Another nighttime check would be to see if they glow when revs held steady. If so, or another way to check... get a timing light, hook up & start engine. With light pointing at timing marks (should be 6 btdc) slowly increase RPM and see if timing marks seperate from each other (they should). If NO, Mechanical advance unit has frozen due to lack of oil (who ever services car isn't doing it). Food for thought. MG
