I have had nothing but problems with my 96 Discovery. I bouight the car in March of 96; in August it was in the shop for 3 weeks for valve problems. I have had continous oil leaks; up to 4 last checkup. My biggest problems are the brakes - which I had to replace at 26,000 miles at a cost of $1371.00. Then, 2 days later, my transmission blew, without any warning, and came to a complete stop on a busy highway!! Is this NORMAL? My repair Rover shop is saying brake jobs are normal at 25,000 miles!!!! All of these costly repairs scare me...please reply, someone! I think I have a LEMON!
