The previous owner had bought the new set but not installed them. I think the original set were riveted. They looked good so I replaced master cylinder and drums before I finally put on the new shoes and solved my problem. I think the new shoes are riveted, unfortunately I threw away the boxes and do not remember the brand. I think they were in Land Rover packaging and I know the previous owner had bought most of his parts from Rovers North. As a temporary fix before replacing the shoes I had put 3/8" nuts over the pin that the snail cam rides on. This actually worked fine, but since I had the new shoes I decided to put them on.
