All of this critisism about the Milemarker is great, but it sounds as those giving advice do not have one. I have the two speed 10,000 winch. It is powered by the stock Rover power steering pump. I'll admit it is slow in the low gear, but a winch is supposed to be. I've had a Warn in the past and all I'll say is there is no comparision. As opposed to a Warn I had the Milemarker will really winch up the steeps and not bog down. With an electric winch you have to stop and go stop and go. With the Milemarker all you have to do is a continuous pull. After finishing the second gear winds the cable in with great speed. The milemarker also comes with better, thicker cable than electric winches. The choice is yours

As for the PTO verses Milemarker. I've been with diehard Koening winch roverheads and seen amazing pulls with the units. However, even my Koening buddies want to put a remote power steering pump in for the MileM. The convience of having the remote makes the difference.
