As far as I am aware, Fairey overdrives are no longer manufactured and must be bought second-hand. If you live in the States, try contacting Rovers North (VT) or Atlantic British (NY) on the east coast. On the west coast, try either British Northwest Land-Rover (WA) or British Pacific (CA).

I own a '67 Ser IIA fitted with an overdrive. If it weren't
for this important addition, I probably wouldn't bother driving a Series vehicle anywhere but on a farm. With it, I can cruise at 75 mph on the freeways. I can also 'split' the gears (although some advise against doing this); i.e., I can shift into overdrive going uphill between 3rd and 4th gears. This allows me an 'extra' gear when 3rd is not enough and 4th is too much, if you get my drift.

Good luck.
