questions on engine sound

I recently purchased a 95 disco and I am really happy with it but there a few sounds that make me a little uncomfortable.
1st after the engine warms up there is a clunking sound that comes from the rear or the engine while ideling or in park. 2nd when shifting into reverse it slams not a gentle quiet shift that I am used to with my other automatic trans. and 3rd when driving there is a knocking sound from the same place the clunking sound comes from.
there is only 44,000 mi on the engine purchased from a non land rover dealer. Are these sounds common with discos or do I have reason to be concerned???? Any comments welcome.
